So I guess I'm a little behind on the bloggs, and I really don't know what I'm doing, but I'll give it a shot.
We are starting off the year in English by talking about Native American culture and History. "The World on the Turtles Back" was about what was good in the world and what was bad. It talked about how there was a man who either pushed his pregnant wife, or watched her fall into a hole and he didn't really do anything about it. That woman gave birth to a daughter. Between the two of them and some of their animal buddies, they created the world we live in now. The daughter also became pregnant and had twins, a left twin and a right twin. The right twin was good, and was born normally. However, the left twin was a hell raiser, and was born through the armpit, of course. The left twin represented all the evil and bad things in the world and the right twin represented all the good things in the world. The right one ended up killing the left and now the left twin is the ruler of the under world. He also killed his grandmother, who is now the moon.
Don't you think it was interesting that the right twin (the "good" twin) was the one who murdered his brother and his grandmother?
