William Bradford came over to America on the Mayflower because of his separatist beliefs. He was the Governor of Plymouth for many years. He was part of the exploration parties once the Mayflower had landed. His wife died shortly before they got to Plymouth. William wrote Of Plymouth Plantation, which was a journal of what he encountered during the trip. William Bradford ended up being governor 30 times throughout his life.
